SKINNY JEAN - THE PERFECT FIT

Finding the perfect fit skinny jean can be hard, however once you do, it is sure to become a well-loved staple item in your wardrobe. One that you can wear anytime of the year and feel comfortable and confident in them. So, how should women’s skinny jeans fit? See below for our tips on what to look for:

WAIST

If your jeans are the perfect size for you, you should not need a belt to hold them up. They should fit snug around the waist and not be so tight that it pinches you and feels uncomfortable. Our Elwood Skinny Jean has 2% elastane which gives the denim some stretch for a comfortable, snug fit, without feeling like your movements are restricted.

TIGHTNESS

The level of tightness all depends on how much stretch is in the denim. If you are looking for a denim that is comprised of 100% cotton and has no stretch in it, then you will need to choose a size that is a little bit looser around the thighs and legs. However, if the denim has some stretch in it, it important to remember to look for a size that is a snug fit all over, especially when it comes to skinny jeans, as they will relax with wear over time.

HIPS

This can be a difficult one - often when you try on jeans, they fit everywhere perfectly, except for the hips! Depending on your body shape, choosing a skinny jean that has some stretch in the denim will add to the level of comfort! You want the jean to fit snug around your hips, but make sure it’s not too loose or too tight that it pinches you. Experiment with different rises such as low-rise, mid-rise and high-rise. Our Elwood Skinny Jean is a high-rise jean, to ensure they sit above your hips and don’t feel like they are pinching you. This combined with the stretch in the denim makes them feel like a second skin.

LENGTH

Skinny jeans come in a verity of different lengths that you can choose from. At KEEPER Denim we offer our jeans in two different lengths – an ankle cut and a full length, check out our Fit Guide for more details. Depending on your height, you can choose which length would suit you better. If you want to wear boots in winter, you may prefer a full-length jean. However, if you want to wear flats with your jeans, an ankle cut might be best. On the other hand, if you’re tall, the full-length jean will make the perfect length jean for you.
